Lancia kappa V6

That's right, for 2004 Nyssa Racing will be racing the first ever Lancia kappa race car in Class A

The kappa saloon will run with the 2959cc 24v V6 engine similar to that found in many Alfa Romeo cars. The plan is to take as much weight as possible out of the car rather than to spend big money on the engine. The starting weight for this car is 1510kgs, we have set a target to get below 1100kgs to start with, it will be interesting to see where we get to. We're not expecting to be competitive at the sharp end of Class A, but the aim is to run nearer the middle of the field and find other people to play with.

The kappa is being prepared by Auto Integrale in Reading. See below for some early progress pictures.

And finally an early shot of the engine having just been removed complete with the rest of the subframe assembly. One small problem is that the kappa V6 is only available with an automatic gearbox - not too much cop for racing. Conveniently the gearbox on this car was faulty anyway, but an Alfa Romeo 164 has been purchased to donate the parts required for the conversion to manual. The full specification will be released when we have finalised it.

Return to the Brands Hatch test.
