Lancia kappa 20vt - 19 March 2005

Engine update

There is good news. Mark at Owen Developments called last night. The kappa is up and running, changing the toothed wheel for another with less teeth has resolved the misfire problem. Power and torque figures are strong, but more is available. She ran over 400bhp but is currently set producing 376 bhp at 1.1 bar, and 362 lb ft, trying to set the boost higher caused overboosting at lower revs on that setting. An electronic boost valve will be fitted to solve that but couldn't be done there and then as Owen Developments were out of stock. We shall try and sort that asap and remap back to full potential. With Silverstone's three long straights, can't afford to turn down power we know is there. We have plans to test over Easter and then again at the Lancia Motor Club event at Goodwood (2 April) before Silverstone.

The splitter has yet to be refitted to the front bumper, and we're yet to get the decals on, but here's some teaser pictures to be going with:

She might be sitting a little too low in these pictures, but we'll figure that out in testing.
